Sewer Replacement

Nobody wants to replace their sewer line. Unfortunately, sometimes there is no other option. When there are other options, we will always discuss those options with you. You can depend on us to be upfront and honest with all available repair/replacement options for your sewer. With multiple options, we will go through each one, discuss pros/cons, and then decide on a course of action. If sewer replacement is your only option, you can go for a traditional or trenchless sewer pipe replacement.

Trenchless sewer replacement is the minimal dig, least disruptive method to replace your pipes. If your sewer line only needs a small section replaced, we can perform a structural spot repair, which is a fiberglass sleeve that is filled with epoxy resin and inserted into the pipe and then inflated by an air compressor. The inflation causes the sleeve to expand in the drain line and pushes against the existing drain line. Once the epoxy has cured, it will harden and create a pipe within the pipe, which will effectively cover any cracks or broken pieces. This is the best solution to repair small cracks or brakes behind walls or finished spaces. No demolition is needed and can be done while the building is occupied.

If your sewer line has significant damage, the best option is to get rid of the old one completely and put in a new one with the trenchless pipe bursting method. With the pipe bursting method, an expander head is moved from one end of the pipe to the other. As it goes through the pipe, it expands and bursts the pipe open. Then, a new pipe is pulled through the old sewer line to replace it.

There are many pros to trenchless sewer replacement, including:

  • The use of state-of-the-art equipment and superior materials
  • Time efficiency
  • Less expensive
  • Versatile
  • Ecofriendly
  • No digging required
  • Durable

However, there are occasions where trenchless technology is not possible to use. If the sewer line is severely damaged and corroded, our plumbers will have no choice but to perform traditional sewer replacement.

Our team is capable of handling traditional sewer replacements, from small residential projects to large scale commercial excavation for main sewer line replacements. Traditional or trench sewer replacement can be unsightly for any property, but with our sanitary precautions and restoration process, your property is in good hands. Before we start digging, we will map out each excavation with you. Once digging starts, all crew members will make sure to prevent damage to your property.

As you can see, sewer replacement is definitely not a job that your average person can do. You need to hire a company that has the experience, knowledge, and proper equipment to perform sewer replacements. Delco Storm & Sewer Services is your best choice for sewer replacement.
