Sewer Replacement
Nobody wants to replace their sewer line. Unfortunately, sometimes there is no other option. When there are other options, we will always discuss those options with you. With multiple options, we will go through each one, discuss pros/cons, and then decide on a course of action. If sewer replacement is your only option, you can go for a traditional or trenchless sewer pipe replacement.
Trenchless sewer replacement is the minimal dig, least disruptive method to replace your pipes. If your sewer line only needs a small section replaced, we can perform a structural spot repair, which is a fiberglass sleeve that is filled with epoxy resin and inserted into the pipe and then inflated by an air compressor. The inflation causes the sleeve to expand in the drain line and pushes against the existing drain line. Once the epoxy has cured, it will harden and create a pipe within the pipe, which will effectively cover any cracks or broken pieces. This is the best solution to repair small cracks or brakes behind walls or finished spaces. No demolition is needed and can be done while the building is occupied.
If your sewer line has significant damage, the best option is to get rid of the old one completely and put in a new one with the trenchless pipe bursting method. With the pipe bursting method, an expander head is moved from one end of the pipe to the other. As it goes through the pipe, it expands and bursts the pipe open. Then, a new pipe is pulled through the old sewer line to replace it.
